Say goodbye to the game cafes and arcades you are used to because there is a bigger, better and – we’ve got to say it – sexier place to get your gaming fix. The Game Over Lounge is unlike anything we have seen in Bangkok and offers an unbeatable gaming experience.
Whether you are a hardcore gamer who wants to take advantage of some seriously powerful PC’s, or a more casual gamer who’s out looking for something different to do on a Saturday night – Game Over has everything a modern gamer needs to get his or her gaming fix.
Latest Generation Console and PC Gaming
Over in the console area a large TV links up to not only a PlayStation 4, but also an Xbox One, and a Wii U – giving you plenty of options to choose from.
A huge custom-made couch on which we managed to fit 8 friends completes the area, so flex your thumbs and prepare to get comfortable.
We love the layout of Game Over and it’s easy to see just how well it’s been planned out. The console area, for example, is set off in a corner and means that no one will be walking in front of the TV interrupting your game and the area feels more private.
If the latest blockbuster games aren’t for you, Game Over has got you covered. Classic board games such as Monopoly and Chess are available along with some new favorites such as the very naughty Cards Against Humanity.
While not for the faint of heart, Cards Against Humanity is one of our favorites and will have you and your friends in fits of laughter.
The Game Over Lounge could be described as one of the worlds best man-caves, but don’t expect to find only guys occupying the loft-like space as it is equally suited to gamer girls too.
For the more serious gamers, the lounge also has two rooms dedicated entirely to PC gaming and boasting some very impressive professional setups.
Food & Drinks
The lounge offers a great selection of craft beers, smooth milkshakes, and delicious cakes (we loved the baked cheesecake).
But, without a doubt, the real attraction for Bangkok foodies here at Game Over is the NERD concept kitchen by Daniel Thaiger serving up the now famous Daniel Thaiger Burgers every night.
Until recently the only place to get your hands on what we are calling ‘the best burgers in Bangkok‘ was at the popular Daniel Thaiger food-truck. This used to mean sitting on the roadside while enjoying your meal and hoping that the insanely busy food truck didn’t sell out. Now though, you can get your food fix along with your gaming fix. It’s a match made in heaven.
Membership & Prices
Anyone can check out the Game Over Lounge for a bite to eat, a drink and to play some board games, but to enjoy the PC and console games you’ll need to be a member.
Membership is around 1,200 baht per month (but can vary depending on special offers) and there are several different membership plans available.
Members can bring a bunch of friends along to enjoy the consoles and card games and only one membership is needed for the entire group. You then pay an hourly fee for the games, which is 350baht for the consoles (including the big TV and couch) and about 100 baht for board games. Non-members can play the board games too for 200 baht per hour.
NERD by Daniel Thaiger serves their awesome burgers, sandwiches, fries, and malt shakes every night from 5:30pm to 11:30pm.
Find the Game Over Lounge at 1000/39 Liberty Plaza, Soi Thonglor, Sukhumvit 55, North Klongtun, Wattana, Bangkok and enter through the parking garage.
