What do you get when you combine the best bits of a coffee house, a restaurant and a trendy bar? Introducing the Dexter Cafe & Bar; a hip new hangout that is effortlessly cool.
Serving fabulous cocktails, great coffee, and with a variety of hand-picked favourites on the menu, the Dexter Cafe & Bar is a great place to grab a few drinks after work, have dinner with friends, or hold casual business meetings.
The Dexter Cafe & Bar has a minimalistic, clean and almost industrial design which makes it feel modern and fresh. In fact, Dexter is so well designed that it almost feels like it hasn’t been designed at all – it is as though it was just supposed to look that way.
Serving throughout the day, Dexter has a fantastic menu to choose from. On our last visit we tried out the boneless chicken (158 baht) to start, followed by the spare ribs (358 baht) and the beef stew (248 baht).
The menu covers all bases, with familiar breakfast and brunch favourites such as Eggs Benedict and Pancakes beside refreshing and healthy fruit and yoghurt combinations. Later in the day you may want to choose from the varied menu, offering everything from Italian to Thai, with some old western favourites such as fish and chips, beef stew, and the Lox bagel.
For something sweet, the dessert menu doesn’t disappoint either – continuing the theme of culinary innovation Dexter offers up strawberry soup, alongside classic favourites sun as brownies and ice-cream.
What’s interesting about Dexter is that it actually lives up to what it claims to be: a coffee house, a bar and a restaurant. In a single visit to Dexter Cafe & Bar it’s not uncommon to see people working on their laptops or reading a book, people dining with friends or their sweethearts, and some small groups of friends enjoying a drink or two.
Dexter’s cool design, delicious food and casual atmosphere makes it a great choice for business meetings, catching up with friends and grabbing some drinks after work.
On the subject of drinks after work, it’s worth mentioning that the Dexter Cafe & Bar currently offer half priced cocktails during happy hour (5-7pm), which includes classics such as Singapore Sling, minty Mojitos and the Kamikaze. A selection of hot drinks are available throughout the day too, with a skilled barista churning out rich and aromatic coffees.
If you want to take a group to Dexter, remember to book early, especially on weekends, and give yourself plenty of time to sit over drinks and soak up the evening ambience.
