The Central Embassy Shopping Mall is one of Bangkok’s latest luxury shopping centres catering to those in need of an all-in-one premier shopping destination.
Set in the heart of Ploen Chit, this futuristic mega-mall is home to many well known luxury brands such as Prada, Gucci and Chanel. Not into designer fashion? Don’t worry, there are a few other great reasons to visit the Central Embassy Shopping Mall.
As well as luxury products and designer clothes, this giant mall boasts a first-class luxury cinema, known as The Embassy Diplomat Screens, a great selection of fine-dining restaurants, and the six star Park Hyatt Hotel (!!!).
For those of you in need of a quick bite rather than a lavish lunch, the EatThai food court is a fantastic place to stop to enjoy delicious Thai dishes made with high quality ingredients. As one example of the kind of meals to expect would be the beef Massaman curry with its generous, meaty chunks of beef in the rich curry sauce. Vendors line the walls in beautifully designed booths, giving you a great selection of dishes to choose from.
For those rumbling tummies in search of a treat, ascend to floor 5. Restaurants such as The Water Library, Issaya, and Somboon Seafood are just a few of the fantastic eateries waiting to tempt you in with sizzling Wagyu beef, fresh oysters, and fanciful cakes. Level 5 also boasts great metropolitan views of downtown Bangkok; so if you are looking for a quiet spot to enjoy watching the golden sunset reflected in high rises, look no further.
The mall is well organised, minimalist, modern, and has a calm, cool feel to it – taking the stressful hustle and bustle out of your shopping weekend. As you wader around and ride the countless escalators, you pass all manner of luxury brands. Prada, Hermes, Harrods, and Chanel all reside here, their windows shining and inviting you to splash out on something spectacular.
For a breath of fresh air, Central Embassy has a stunning outdoor courtyard with beautiful fountains, seating areas, and greenery. If you are nearby, consider stopping by to check out this wonderful space that we think will remain a well kept secret due to many people assuming that Central Embassy is out of their price range.
However, you don’t have to be wealthy or live a life of luxury to enjoy the views here. We recommend heading to one of Central Embassy’s great coffee shops – many of which are luxury, although their are also budget friendly options such as Starbucks and True – and enjoying your drink in the courtyard.
Another way to get a taste of luxury for less is to catch a movie at one of The Embassy Diplomat Screens. The 5 screen cinema comes complete with a butler service who will be on hand to serve you. Although tickets are more expensive than your standard Bangkok cinema (ranging from 1,000-1,500 baht), it’s an experience worth trying and should be a real treat for movie lovers.
Central Embassy Bangkok is conveniently connected to the BTS Skywalk and can be accessed directly through both Ploenchit or Chidlom BTS Skytrain stations. Central Embassy is open every day from 10am until 10 pm
